TOPIC: Revision WEEK: Two DATE:

CLASS: Basic one SUBJECT: Computer Studies TOPIC: Common IT devices DURATION: 45 minutes

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Students are familiar with some common IT devices

e.g calculator, GSM etc

BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1.    say the meaning of IT devices.

2.    identify and name common IT device

INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL: Toy phones, toy calculator, smart phones etc

Common IT devices

 

 

Examples of IT devices

What are IT devices? These are devices that uses electricity and they make the performance of our work easy. They have element of electronics in them

The following are examples of IT devices;

1.    Calculator

2.    GSM phone

3.    Organiser

4.    Water dispenser

4.    Television

5.    Radio etc 

PRESENTATION

STEP I: Teacher revises the previous topic.

STEP II: Teacher introduces the new topic “Common IT devices” STEP III: Teacher explains the meaning of IT devices

STEP IV: Teacher explains the types and examples of it devices STEP V: Pupils copy the note and submit for marking EVALUATION:

1.    say the meaning of IT devices.

1.    lists three IT devices.

CONCLUSION: Teacher concludes the lesson by evaluating the students and gives an assignment

ASSIGNMENT:

1.    Draw a smart phone and list one of its function

2.    Draw a calculator and state any of its function

CLASS: Basic one SUBJECT: Computer Studies

TOPIC: Common devices (GSM phones) DURATION: 45 minutes

PREVIOUS KNOWLEDGE: Students are familiar with GSM as an example of IT devices

BEHAVIOURAL OBJECTIVES: At the end of the lesson, pupils should be able to:

1.    identify GSM phone.

2.    give the full meaning of GSM.

3.    name types of GSM phone.

4.    state the uses of GSM phone.

 

 INSTRUCTIONAL MATERIAL: A real GSM phone, pictures of different types of GSM phones.

GSM phone

This is a device used for receiving and sending calls, it can also be used for texting and receiving message, it a device for reaching people that is far from us.

The full meaning of GSM is Global System for Mobile Communication

 

 Types of GSM These includes:-

1. Android phones

2. Landline phones Uses of GSM

1. For making and receiving calls

2. For texting and receiving messages

3. For getting the location of people

4. For taking pictures

5. For storing information and playing games PRESENTATION

2.    name types of calculator.

3.    state the uses of calculators.

Calculator

This is an IT device for performing mathematical problems that it is used in solving mathematical problem.

Types of calculator are digital calculator and analogue calculator. Uses of calculator

1.    For solving mathematical problem

2.    For getting formulas

3.    For storing information
