Content:

 Clay soil is a type of soil that can be used to mould different type of object. 

       Clay soil are sticky and can absorb many water. They can be used to mould different object like cup, pot, plate e.t.c . They are also used in building houses known as hut.

Content:  There two types of clay soil, namely;

White clay: They are smooth and fine powder used for moulding different object  Red clay: They are often found in around us. In the river, school compound.

Behavioural objectives: At the end of the lesson pupils should be able to :

1. Mention some place to get clay soil.

Instructional material/Reference material: Teacher’s chart an pictures.

Content: clay soil are common type of soils that can be found around us. They can be found in places like.

1.  The riverbank 

2.  Well

3.  Bank.

4.  Road side

5.  Ant hill. E.t.c

Behavioural objectives: At the end of the lesson pupils should be able to: 

1. Mention At least 3 properties of clay soil. 

Instructional material/Reference material: chart, pictures, clay, water

 

Building Background /connection to prior knowledge: Pupils have learnt where clay can be found. 

 

Content: Clay soil contain some properties, namely;

1.  They are sticky

2.  They absorb many water.

3.  They are hard and smooth 

 

Evaluation: teacher asked pupil to: 

1. Mention properties of clay soil.

 

 

Week: 5th week

Class: Basic two 

Topic: Experiment to show that clay retain water.

 

Behavioural objectives: At the end of the lesson pupils should be able to:

1.  Record their observation.

2.  Describe their finding. 

Instructional material/Reference material: clay, water, cylinder, funnel and cotton wool.

 

Building Background /connection to prior knowledge: Pupils have learnt 

1. The properties of soil.

 

Content: Experiment process:

1.  Get a soil sample.

2.  Pour the soil sample into the bowl. 

3.  Add water into the soil sample. 

4.  Mix the soil sample together with the water.

5.  Observe the soil.
